The RWTN favorites will all be back, but we have shaken up the schedule and added some new things to the mix. On Saturday, festivities will begin at 8:00 a.m. on site with the popular Biker Breakfast and Blessing!

RWTN's 2014 Religious Medal

Most Rev. Michael Duca, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Shreveport, has chosen Mother Teresa of Calcutta as this year’s religious medal for Run with the Nuns VIII.

The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, commonly known as Mother Teresa, founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Catholic religious congregation of Sisters, who operate orphanages, hospices, clinics, and schools throughout the world. The Sisters take vows “to serve the poorest of the poor". Mother Teresa was the recipient of numerous honors including the 1979 Nobel Peace Prize. In 2003, she was beatified (one of the steps to sainthood) by the Catholic Church as "Blessed Teresa of Calcutta".

During our Biker Blessing, each participant will receive a free Mother Teresa medal.

Bishop Duca and Msgr. Earl Provenza will be blessing bikers and bikes beginning at 9 am on Saturday, October 18, in the Red River District-Downtown Shreveport.
